"A COMMANDER ORDERS 'SHOOT ALL REFUGEES
The log of the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, records a communication on August 9, 1950, when U.S. troops held the Naktong River line, in which the regimental commander orders, 'Shoot all refugees coming across river.' The entry is fifth from the bottom, at '1655 hours' (4:55pm). 'Scrappy 6' was the code name for the commander, Col. Raymond D. Palmer."
