"U.S. FIRES ON REFUGEE ENCAMPMENT
In the marked section of this Sept. 1, 1950, entry in the was diary of the USS De Haven, it's noted that the Shore Fire Control Party, at the Army's insistence, directed the destroyer's fire onto an onshore refugee encampment. Survivors say 100 to 200 people were killed, mostly women and children."
